BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook | Muted, slightly waxy nose. Fresh and limpid, with charming purity of fruit. This is ultra-discreet, a shy but very pretty teenager. There’s a piquant character, too, and it’s very restrained in its fruit expression. This won’t be for everyone, but it’s subtle and moreish. Long, dry, stony finish. | 92

Andrew Jefford | Very pale steel-white. Rather earthy-sweet, primary scents to which I don’t particularly warm; it lacks the finesse and nuance of the very best. This is true on the palate, too; perhaps hard-pressed. Anyway, a bitter finish. | 80

Stephan Reinhardt | This Romains is pretty mature on the aromatic, concentrated, and elegant nose. The palate is astringent and short. Disappointing. | 84
