BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Spicy and complex on the nose, and with the higher proportion of Petit Verdot, tighter and less harmonious tannins than in the grand vin, which is normal, but less harmony than certain peers in its category. | 93

Michael Schuster | Merlot-rich and spicy and black-fruit ripe to smell; rich, fleshy, powerful, but with the tannins well masked by the flesh; generous, sweetly ripe, ample wine, with an almost Californian aspect to it, moderately complex, and with a very nice length of aftertaste. Svelte and seductive, if without quite the class of the ‘15, ‘16, ‘17? Still likely to represent excellent value. | 91–92
