Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Allure and great finesse, impeccable race, delicate tannins—a great vintage. | 96–97
Michael Schuster | Gently black-fruit ripe, gravelly, smoky, subtle; concentrated, fresh, finely tannic, a rich DC balance; ripe and fleshy but firm and linear all the same, sweetly, almost juicily, ripe, long and close-grained, gravelly in aromas underneath, long and mineral-scented to finish, with a very sweet-fruit core persistence. Grand, ample Domaine de Chevalier, with black-fruit-sweet ripeness at its heart—most unusual for this wine. But overall firm, and will need plenty of time. 2033–50+. | 93–94
