Neil Beckett | Always one of the most elegant renditions of this cru, and again so this vintage, but at a cost; normally the domaine's two parcels—1ha in the upper part, 0.5ha in the lower—are blended together, but in 2017 the lower part was deemed not to have the requisite concentration and was therefore excluded. Pale hue (50% whole-bunch). Fresh but ripe red-fruit scent, with an earthy licorice lick. All the density one would expect, but beautifully silky, the consistency of single cream, thanks to the quality of the tannins, from careful management in both vineyard and winery. | 94+
