Stephen Brook | Smoky red-fruits nose that’s also vibrant and lifted, with a cranberry tang. Quite rich and suave on the palate, showing good concentration and weight of fruit. At first it seems a solid expression of Barbaresco, but there’s sufficient underlying acidity to perk it up. It’s sleek and stylish, if not very nuanced. But it’s early days, and this has the stuffing and structure to fuel a good future. Fine-grained tannins dominate the long finish. | 91

Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear black-red. Light redcurrant fruits and dry grasses: fragrant, but in slightly low-focus, soft-contoured style. The wine is generous in the mouth, though: firm and full, with ample tannin. The curranty fruits are agreeably bitter-edged, giving the wine mouth-cleansing qualities. A good to very good effort that would win a higher score still with better aromatic focus and precision. Excellent concentration and depth, though. 2018–23. | 88
