Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Attractive scents, but surely implying some mixed ripeness: a compote of fruit (sweet cherry), flower, and leaf. Intense on the palate, with firmer tannins than many, but with rather strange, lurid fruit notes and a slightly yogurty finish. This wine may well settle down with some bottle age, and its intensity is remarkable, but the mixed-ripeness legacy of the vintage and the slightly odd fruit style means that my score is provisional here. 2018–25? | 88
Michael Schuster | Sweetly ripe and plummy to smell; rich, generous, fresh, finely and firmly tannic wine; ripe, plummy flavor, long, sweet, savory, and spicy, a seductive overall presence within a tannin firm frame, rich and fleshy, long to taste, satisfying without being grand. Will need plenty of time, but be delicious in the fairly long term. 2026–38+. | 92
