Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Complex, almost creamy fruits dominate the nose, with just a little root spice (licorice and gentian) behind. Supple, nuanced, and attractive aromas. On the palate, too, the wine is relatively gentle and relaxed in articulation—its acidity is more muted, for example, than that of Château Lagrange, the wine it followed in our tasting. There’s no lack of concentration, though; there are ample silky tannins; and the finish grows a little more savory on the finish. Deft and finely crafted. 2018–26. | 91
Michael Schuster | Subtle to smell, complex but closed as yet; very nicely balanced, fairly concentrated middle weight, fresh in acidity, finely firm in tannin; long, sweet, even, refined St-Julien, complex to taste, mirroring the nose, and persistent to finish; will need time, but will be stylish and very satisfying given a decade more in bottle. 2028–40+. | 92
