Andrew Jefford: Deep red-black in color. Lots of sweet grass clippings lend charm to the black plum and blackcurrant fruits here; gently savory at the edges. Actually a very pretty nose for this vintage. Hard, firm, and acidic on the palate, but with lots of sweet blackcurrant hovering behind the acidity. The generous tannins intimate a longer life for this wine than for many of its peers: a good effort. 2018–25. 89
Michael Schuster: Gently sweet red and black fruit and subtle minerality; nicely balanced in the year, mediumfull, fresh, relatively supple, moderately tannic; gently sweet (like the nose) in fruit, with a nice length of flavor, elegant, aromatic, and with good length to finish. Attractive, complete, mid-rank St-Julien, but with a tannin texture that means it will need time. 2024–30+. 89
