Andrew Jefford | Deep, dense black-red in color. Refined and cedary already on the nose; classically enticing. There’s great harmony and balance between the creamy fruits and the spices (from wood in large part), and there will certainly be further aromatic evolution ahead. Sweet-fruited and sweetly wooded, too, this St-Pierre is a crowd-pleasing charmer in a vintage that is less crowd-pleasing than most. For all that, the fruits are concentrated and this wine will last well. Try to get it before the acidity assumes the upper hand. 2018–23. | 90
Michael Schuster | Ripe and savory and gently mineral to smell; very nicely balanced medium-full wine, on the firmer side in terms of its tannin; long, ripe, tasty, but still tannic, and with a fine length of aftertaste. This is very good, but the tannins have hardened and, as with many, it will need longer than one might have though initially, so needs 6–8 years. 2026–35+. | 91
