Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in color. This Durfort is the first of the Margaux flight so far to show some aromatic greenness and “hedgerow freshness”: snipped privet among the fresh blackcurrants. Some will like it, though it is not to my personal taste. On the palate, too, this seems to me to be a wine that hasn’t quite achieved full ripeness. It has grace and freshness, but you have to relish green tones in the black fruits to enjoy it to the full. 2018–21. | 84
Michael Schuster | Ripe fruit to smell, alongside the new-oak vanilla; medium-full, moderate concentration, fresh, and firm in tannin; a delicate, and gently fragrant ripe fruit core, that is currently dominated by its tannin structure, but there is complexity here and length of flavor, just not an overall harmony—good medium length. Will certainly need time... You get a sense of class, but the structure distracts. 2026–36+. | 89
