Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-red in color. There’s more beef stock to the aromas of this wine than for most of its Pessac-Léognan peers; it has incense and coal-dust; there are sloes and damsons among the currants. Complex, faintly exotic, intriguing. The urban setting has brought a little more ripeness here than for properties like Haut-Bailly or Domaine de Chevalier, and the complexities of flavor are impressive: pomegranate and orange, as well as currants and plums. Texturally, it is relatively light, and in terms of palate width, too, it is restrained and graceful, but its concentration and complexity of flavor are impressive. 2018–24. | 91
Michael Schuster | Sweetly, freshly ripe in fruit to smell; rich, complete mid-weight, fresh, finely firm in tannin; ripe-cored to taste, aromatic, long and gently complex across the palate, juicy, attractive, refined, complete; the tannin texture means this will need time, but it is very good. 2024–40+. | 92
