Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in appearance. Ample, high-toned raspberry here, mingling with smoky notes and a touch of balsam. There are some perfumer’s spices to freshen the wine, too. On the palate, it is deeply fruity, searching and long, the dark, sheer, chilly raspberry thrown into vivid balance by the 2014 knife-edge acidity and dry tannins. Impressive and challenging in this stern year. 2018–24. | 88
Michael Schuster | Sweetly ripe in fruit to smell; medium-full, fresh in acidity, finely firm in tannin; elegant, fine and complex in fruit; long, ripely juicy, succulent, and aromatic to taste, long and fragrant to finish; a generous, fine, long-term wine, complete and satisfying. Will be an excellent bottle in the long term. 2030–40+. | 93
