Stephen Brook | Although the nose shows rich botrytis aromas and an abundance of stone fruits and quince, it also has great finesse despite the evident new oak. On the palate there’s a marriage of hedonistic fruitiness and precision, with a firm backbone of acidity coursing through the palate. Both unctuous and racy, this is still in its infancy, but should have a great future. A majestic Barsac, with balance and persistence. | 95
Andrew Jefford | Deep honey-gold. A little quiet and reserved at this stage: honeyed, lemony, finely detailed and carefully arranged, but biding its time. Lots in there, but it needs time to reveal its splendors. Very sweet, very pure, and very pristine just now: a kind of sugar fortress, seamed up and gleaming with lemon acidity, just waiting for time to knock at the door. Hugely promising, though you really have to wait. 2020–32. | 95
