Stephen Brook | Mellow apricot nose withatouch of honey, and lightly evolved. Very sweet attack, linear and silky. Concentrated and lifted by high acidity, this is in a lean intense style that may lack some depth but shows force and precision and a beguiling texture. For a second wine this is excellent and vindicates Lafaurie’s new policy of much stricter selection. | 89

Andrew Jefford | Full medium gold. Plump, honeyed scents, with a little marzipan. Not quite pristine, though. Bottle two: Cleaner and fresher. Vivid and soundly rich on the palate, without any baroque levels of sweetness, but satisfying and long, with a mouth- watering curl of acidity behind the sweetness. 2018–23. | 85
