Alison Buchanan: Deep green-tinged mahogany-tawny, slightly spiritous, this evokes chocolate raisins on the nose and brandied, caramelized oranges. The palate, in harmony with the nose, presents a delightful blend of candied and fresh fruit, caramel and zest, chocolate and coffee. The length is extraordinary, layered and rather noble, pure and bittersweet—impressive balance. | 91

Andrew Jefford: Mid, clear walnut brown. Mint toffee, with a squeeze of orange liqueur over the top: a very pretty combination. Luscious, deep, and perfumed, with pristine definition and aroma retention despite all the sugar you could wish for. Pretty near spot-on for a style benchmark within the NV category, and a gloriously generous, scented fortified in the world context. | 90

Margaret Rand: Green, sappy, coffeeish nose; intense coffee and chocolate palate, dense and concentrated. Very coffee-chocolaty wine. Powerful and quite foursquare. | 88
