Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Great color. Excellent body, with extra generosity of texture and aromatic complexity compared to the Langoa, more marked than in other vintages. It will equal some first growths this year. Tasted twice. | 95

Michael Schuster | Ripe red-fruit and mineral nose; rich, dense, fresh, and very finely tannic, a fine, complete, top-year balance; rich, elegant, minerally wine of considerable substance, with a particularly sapid- rich tannin texture, complex, long, packed with matter and savor, and with great, crisp, gravelly length. Not the fleshy grandeur of 2016; more polish and matter than the fine 1996. Top-notch St-Julien. 2030–45+. | 92–93+
