BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Bright garnet to pink. Clean, mature, and slightly closed nose of prunes, plums, and forest undergrowth. Medium to full body, balanced with clean black fruit and a long, elegant finish. | 93

Stephen Brook | Subdued nose, raspberries and cherries. Supple attack, rounded and juicy, broad and fleshy. There’s not much subtlety to the fruit here, and the acidity is stilted. Pleasing and relatively forward but rather limp for Serralunga. Quite long, with a rather dry finish. | 87

Andrew Jefford | Clear, bright, yet deep red. Warm, fine-scented, resonant, and long: a wonderfully gentle and glowing aromatic profile in which all the subtle nuances have swum together. Very fine work here. Incense, glowing fruit, scented warm late-season underbrush—it’s all here. On the palate, this is a magnificently dense and complete wine with all the qualities: allusiveness, subtle, refinement, density and finesse. It’s tight-sewn yet expressive; the ripeness is perfectly judged; it has aromatic force, as well as palate subtlety and harmony. A reference for this tasting. | 95
