Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Intense, mineral, small- black-fruits nose, with roses, plums, and fresh mint. Firm palate, with clean fruit and fairly long, mineral finish. | 88
Stephen Brook | Sleek, refined nose, raspberries and mint and roses. Very discreet entry on to the palate, but the tannins, initially shy, creep up and muscle in. But these tannins seem ripe and aren’t harsh, and there’s an appealing sucrosity on the finish. Nicely balanced, with no excesses and good length. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Limpid and bright. Aromatically, this is not quite at the level of its peers: there’s a touch of disappointing reduction (perhaps unusual in a long-aged wine of this sort) and some mixed ripeness. It’s not a palate that particularly lets you down, and there is fair ripeness here and brisk tannin to keep it all moving forward, but the wine lacks detail and finesse. | 86
