BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Tangy nose of lime, apricot, sherbet. Fairly rich on the palate, with a creamy texture. A touch thick and heavy, and lacks the zest suggested by the nose. Some sweetness on finish but ba lanced by acidity. Pleasant, but lacks lift. Drink soon. 12.5

Jancis Robinson: Minerality needs some coaxing on the nose. At the moment, a bit austere, though there is substance and extract here. Still quite hard; this wine will win over no one to the cause of dry German wine. 12.5

Alexander Scott: Riper than the Niederhausen Steinberg, some herbaceousness, an asparagus note perhaps. Again, lacks a little ripeness on the palate. Decent. 11
