Stephen Brook: Enticing nose, apricots, with a slight waxy tone. Medium body, sleek, perky - has charm rather than weight, with pretty acidity hanging on to its skirts. No heavyweight but eminently drinkable, with good length. 16.5

Jancis Robinson: Bright gamboge. Strangely mousy aromas. Extremely distinctive! Lacks a little zip. A bit heavy and galumphing. Coarse finish. 12

Alexander Scott: Touch of reduction makes it hard to comment on the aromatic profile at this stage. Palate seems at first more fluid than the Erbach Marcobrunn Edition Marianne, but there is latent energy here, and a bit more personality: lemon and earth, which suggests that we may be moving east into Hochheim. Slightly granular texture, proper balance, good length. Score would probably move higher with time. Keep five years. 15.5
