BUY THE WINE

Simon Field: Rich, uncompromising colour. Nose slightly dusty, a hint medicinal, the palate slightly awkward, a core of blueberry fruit, but a rather monolithic architecture that is slightly hot on the finish and not especially burdened by complexity. 11.5

Richard Mayson: Good, deep colour, very odd medicinal smell. Slightly burnt, with a smell of tar. Tastes very strange, too. Jammy but dusty and burnt. Unbalanced. 7.5

Jancis Robinson: Purplish crimson. Some unexpectedly ‘green’, leafy notes. This almost smells like Douro table wine! I almost feel as though it’s varietal Touriga Nacional. Hits the palate with lots of ripe fruit and lots of acidity. A little spindly in the middle with the wood dominating at the moment. Not the most harmonious. 11
