BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: A rich, powerful wine, but not nearly so developed as the Suduiraut, to judge from the abrupt finish. Needs another 6 months to hone its aromas, but already shows all the mouth-filling body of a premier cru. 15

Margaret Rand: Impressive on the palate: peaches, citrus, green figs and pineapple. Elegant, with crisp acidity. 16.5

Michael Schuster: Rich and vigorous, very sweet and very concentrated, but ‘fruity’ in style rather than being particularly aromatic or complex. 16
