Jancis Robinson: Dark purple. Spiky, musky, brambly fruit. Big fruit, big extract, but the balance is there, even though tannins currently dominate the mid-palate. Big fruit is the key (well, high extraction, anyway), and this is a biggie. 17.5

Jeremy Watson: Rich deep colour, with soft but definite perfumes and lovely richness in the mouth. Definitely Rioja, and very good. 18.5
