Stephen Brook: Medium straw. Firm nose, lightly honeyed, not very expressive, ripe and tangy. Lean, firm, with some minerality coming through the ripe fruit. Spicy, tangy finish. This is quite evolved for a 2001. Quite long. 16.5
Simon Field: Creamy and charming on the nose, though flattering to deceive in the sense that the palate is more taut. Spice and hints of apricot, firm acidity, and a linear structure, with a faint echo of the lactic on the finish. Earthy, with plenty of white pepper and restrained alcohol. Terroir above all here. 16.5
Roy Richards: Even riper than the Nigl Grüner Veltliner Kammerner Lamm. Soft, creamy, barley sugar even. Simpler on the palate, with less evident acidity. Good, but no great complexity. 15
