Nicolas Belfrage: Deep colour and good presence on the nose, with honest cherry fruit and tea leaf. Firm palate, good acid-fruit balance and nice tannins. An all-round performer that should grow and improve with time. 17

Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Zesty nose of plums and mocha. Medium -bodied, supple, lush and concentrated. Black coffee. Flefty tannins. It sags on the mid-palate, but there is plenty of opulent fruit here, though it doesn’t shout Sangiovese. 16.5

Alison Buchanan: Very intense but not opaque black cherry-velvet, with garnet notes at the rim. Very volatile - some varnish notes on the nose. Rich supple texture, but the volatility is a problem. At best this would be very perfumed, but it is actually rather non-vinous and rubbery. 12
