BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Deep red. Rich, ripe, spicy, chocolaty nose, which has vigour. Medium-bodied, svelte and finely textured. Good acidity. Not too extracted but marred by high alcohol. Good length, but a rather dry finish. 14.5

Alison Buchanan: Deep black-shot garnet. The nose is non-vinous - polish and varnish, very volatile spirit and hot rubber. The palate is thankfully more vinous but still reflects the volatile and varnish character of the nose. It's rubbery and then gives way to some perfumed notes of faded, rather stale potpourri. 13
