Andrew Jefford: Bright water-gold. Sweet, very attractive fruit style, with lots of apricot richness and what seems almost to be a hint of botrytised complexities (improbable in 2003, I know). Stealth and grace. Good concentration, with incisive yet ripe and resonant fruits and some real miperal tingle towards the end. Long and reverberative. A lovely sense of place in this elegant wine of almost saintly purity. Perfect balance: you want to sip and sip... A bsolutely compelling, intrinsically fragrant fruity acidity; spellbinding delicacy, too. 18.5

Simon Larkin : Relatively golden in appearance. Aromas suggestive of ripe fruit, tending towards the exotic end of the spectrum. Peachy and gently floral - not really lifted. The palate shows good intensity of fruit, again with a pithy note. Greater generosity expected, though the wine comes across as quite linear. Really zingy, zesty acidity on the finish removes the sense of balance. A bit disjointed overall (sadly). 11.5

Alexander Scott: Again there is a fleeting hint of mineral spice here, a touch of exoticism, but still undeveloped. On the palate, there’s a whole lot more going on, with great sustain and a steady crescendo to a luxuriously long finish. This is hugely ripe but seems to have the mineral extract and underlying backbone of acidity to carry it. Outstanding wine, enjoyable soon but should also develop interestingly over 3 -6 years, possibly more. 18
