Simon Field: Light in colour, with a slightly anonymous nose. A touch of VA, and not much else immediately evident. Palate slightly flat and lacklustre. Pleasant enough, but not from the first rank. 12
Andrew Jefford: A skinny, emaciated-looking wine. This wouldn’t have looked out of place in the 1970 flight. Correct, fully mature scents, albeit with relatively low amplitude, but already! Pleasant, tangy, anodyne stuff, but shame on those who submitted it as Vintage Port, and shame on those who gave the official approval. 9
Richard Mayson: Mid-deep youthful ruby colour. Woody nose - slightly casky (cork?). It tastes slightly flat, but good structure and solid ripe tannins lingering in the mouth. Let down by green muskiness and a thin finish. 10
