Stephen Brook: Lean, sherbety nose, with some minerality. Very sweet for Spatlese, but has freshness and some zest; light spiciness, delicate yet vigorous; well-balanced, has charm; good length. 17.5

Andrew Jefford: Appealingly glinting green-gold. Lots of bothersome free sulphur covering the fruit charm at this stage. Very sweet, rather sprawling and shapeless in fruit terms; lacks grace, elegance and finesse, though concentration is well up. Needs a little more craft for a top score. 13.5

Jancis Robinson: Very slightly dull gold. Attractive earthiness, which in this vintage serves as useful counterpoint to all that sweetness. Lively acidity - real lift. Marked, fresh citrus acidity and medium weight with good acid/sugar balance. Not especially long, though. Drink 2006-14. 15.5
