Stephen Brook: Closed nose, a touch phenolic. Lean, shapely, quite intense, ripe apples; quite good acidity keeps it lively on the palate, youthful and closed but | has good potential. Quite good length. 17

Andrew Jefford: Full green-gold, but green nonetheless. This is good, articulate and wide-ranging, drawing together both the classic sherbet of young Mosel and the richer, heavy-lidded, more odalisque-like qualities of the vintage, though here it seems rather straightforward and four-square at this stage. Full, sweet, vivid acidity, yet nothing exquisite or ravishing. Perhaps time will lend intricacy: it's rich enough. 14.5

Jancis Robinson: Cool, earthy nose. Lots of texture. Hazelnuts. Round and supple. Good balance. Not the most intense, but it has the equipment for a long life. Nuanced, interesting and confident. Floral - though next to the Rheinhessen wines seems very dry and retiring. Drink 2008-20.17+
