Tim Atkin : Dense, youthful colour. Lots of oak on the nose, but balanced by fruit sweetness and mintiness. Palate harmonious and long with lovely fruit sweetness and complexity. Ripe but well balanced, with well-handled oak. Drink now to 2008. 17

Oz Clarke: Fair red, just a hint of turn. Quite high volatile acidity - not so that you don't like the wine, but it is there, and would be more fun if the fruit were blacker and riper. Even so, it’s a nice wine - appetising acidity, decent fruit and integrated oak. A pretty good ’high-toned’ style.15

Michael Schuster: Brick-rimmed black-red; dense, sweet, cedary, fine, persistent nose; rich well-balanced, concentrated, medium- to full bodied wine with a fine tannin and fresh acidity; long, even, savoury and complex flavour; still youthful but full of promise. 17
