Tim Atkin : Deep, youthful, bright purple. Attractive, ripe nose of chocolate and vanilla and ripe, slightly raisiny fruit characters. The wine is still youthful on the palate and that overripeness is present here too. This is a very Australian style: short on finesse and subtlety perhaps but with plenty of power. The finish is a tad dry, hinting at excessive use of oak. 15
Oz Clarke: This is the roundest and sweetest of the Cabs so far - richer, riper, deep sweet mulberry fruit, with tannin evident and acid too, but both pretty well bedded into the fruit. There is some chocolaty oak also to soften the tannin and fatten out the fruit, and despite a tannic grip, I like the fairly suave fruit and some chocolate and ripe, not totally black, fruit. Good; still needs a couple of years for the gentle fruit to wrap the tannins and oak. But a pleasant clove and cinnamon spice and a certain glycerine gloss. 17
Michael Schuster: Deep, youthful purple; dense nose, blackcurrant and a touch of brown sugar, rich, full-bodied wine with a fine, firm tannin and fresh acidity; rich, juicy, fleshy flavour, abundant ripe fruit, moderate complexity, good length - alcohol warmth clear on the finish. Fairly potent style, but good. 16
