Michael Schuster: fine, ripe ‘black fruit' nose; very nicely balanced medium-full wine with polished tannins and a supple acidity; long, ripe-fruited, refined, spicy and subtly gravelly flavour, and a lovely long, sweet, aromatic finish. Elegant, aristocratic, restrained, complete. A very fine GPL, 17

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: This vintage revives all our old feelings for this cru: solid colour, full body, thoroughbred and taut but no hint of dryness, with that nobly spicy bouquet of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in ideal conditions, plus firm, polished tannins. Currently, our fifth-favourite Pauillac cru from this vintage. 17/18
