BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: Dense citrus-zest and honey nose; rich and fairly concentrated, with a relatively supple backbone; very sweet, slightly coconut-oak tinged flavour with good, rather than outstanding length for a first growth. Very good wine; but lacking just a point in vitality? 16.5+

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Gorgeous liqueur-rich and complete, but not quite the finesse on the nose of its neighbour Sigalas. More convincing as an entrepreneur wine than in previous years. 16/17
