Simon Larkin : Relatively deep fruit on the nose, though expression is far from clear. There is a weight and power here that are difficult to assess. The tannins are clearly evident, the structure almost overwhelming. Good persistence to the finish is equally apparent. A sleeper as it stands, this is demanding of patience, a traditional style that is unyielding in current form, even in this vintage. A monolithic effort. Leave this for at least five or six years before reassessing. 16

Nicolas Belfrage: Two bottles tried, both equally poor. Nose is flat, basically oxidized, and a Bovrily taste. The negative features of Barolo without the positive - austerity rules, little charm. 10
