Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep, correct color, with some turn on the rim. Agreeable and typical nose, not particularly strong. Has the acidity and tannin to carry it far. I’m not totally convinced about the fruit, but it has some of that Porty sweetness at the back, balanced by slight bitterness of tannic backdrop. Good length, quite classy, needs time. Drink from 2014 - 16.5

Stephen Brook: Fairly deep brick red. Fresh if tarry plummy nose, with some floral tones. Medium-bodied, supple, silky; not that concentrated, and the tannins are a touch dry. Though approachable, it does have some structure and grip, but it does lack some bite and vigor. Quite good length - 14

Jancis Robinson: Dark rusty red. Very rich and leafy and alluring. Intriguing and cerebral, with really delightful delicacy. Indubitably Barolo, with great balance and lift but no sweetness or heaviness. Really dances on the palate. Drink 2012–23 - 18
