Andrew Jefford: Medium to full gold. Lots of charm here: pristine yet beautifully developed, with a warm summer wind blowing over the ripe midsummer fruits (green plums and dessert apples). Masterful and concentrated on the palate, with lots of drama to it. This is not the most pristine, edgy, and pungent of the Alsace Rieslings, but if you bring extract into the equation it looks very impressive indeed, and there is ample minerality, too. It is round, ample, harmonious, and hugely reverberative. Low yields: The concentration is almost throbbing… yet it is absolutely dry, too. A wonderful challenge to drink and to enjoy and a superb vineyard expression too—so much more than mere fruit. 18
Andreas Larsson: Quite mineral nose, with hints of ripe citrus and stone fruit; good grip on the palate, which is rather full and concentrated with extract, freshness, and stone-fruit flavors; good length, and a fine balance overall. 17
Stephan Reinhardt: White-golden color. Yeasty purity. Very yeasty palate, with refined acidity, round, super-ripe (some just-ripe flavors would have given additional complexity), and salty. Very good length. Impressive but lacks some fresh and “green” flavors. 17
