Stephen Brook: Opulent passion-fruit nose, exotic fruits, though not overblown. Velvety and quite sweet, this has appealing texture without being too heavy or overbearing. The sweetness is just about integrated into the wine, which is not a super-rich style in the first place. Indeed, the texture is quite open rather than dense, giving the wine an appealing drinkability, which is rare in Gewurz. Doesn’t win points for richness, but does win them for balance and accessibility. Quite good length, though the sweetness does re-emerge on the finish. 16.5
Alison Buchanan: Very high-toned aromatics, as rather volatile orchard and stone fruits vie for dominance with toffee notes and spice. None of them wins. Anemic and out of sorts, the balance is somewhat out of synch. Very sweet; this appears to lack direction and electricity13.5
Anthony Rose: Pale yellow-gold, this is very rich on the nose, with some honeyed botrytis bringing a complexing element to the potpourri scent. There’s some fresh spritz and a richly peachy fruit quality with added rosewater elements, and an attractive freshness that brings balance to the wine. A crowd-pleaser16
