Stephen Brook: Rich, oaky nose with a touch of oiliness, peaches, oranges, and some toastiness. Rich and concentrated, very sweet, quite racy, silky. On the mid-palate, some raisiny tones, and some evident alcohol. Attractive forthright style, with vigor and intensity and some elegance. Quite good length. 17.5

Michael Schuster: Mid-gold; intense honey and raisiny botrytis on the nose; concentrated and rich; intensely sweet in flavor, with a lemony supporting acidity, complex and long, without quite the raciness of the best of this year and at this level; very good, but just seems a little flat on the mid-palate, in spite of its seemingly good acidity, good rather than exceptional length. A good rather than a great Lafaurie, both by its own high standards as well as those of this remarkable vintage. 16.5
