Stephen Brook: Enticing aromas of apricot, honey, and some tropical fruit such as passion fruit and pineapple; discreetly oaky. Good attack, fresh and lively, candied, very sweet yet not excessively sweet, silky texture, fine balance. More persistent than most. Not showing a great deal of complexity now, but should develop well. Quite good length. 18
Michael Schuster: Mid gold; rich, fat, and waxy to smell; very rich and very concentrated but with a vigorous acidity there, too; intensely sweet, almost painfully so; this is a wine with a very high level of sugar, but with the citrus tinged acidity and complexity to carry it; the mouthcoating richness here cut by a subtle oak, with a clear botrytis spice complexity there too, and finishing clean and long. A heavyweight, where a little will go a long way, but a fine Sauternes in an extremely rich style. Drinkable now, doubtless a very long future. Outstanding. 18.5
