Michael Schuster: Closed, but dense, ripe red and black fruit; rich, firmly tannic, very fresh, a typical, fine 2016 balance; deep, sweet, juicy, and sapid, very mineral behind, long and lively to taste, aromatic, complex, tight, and well defined; a lovely complexity, closegrained, racy, elegant, beautifully defined, and with a lovely black-fruit and aromatic spice persistence. Fine, firm, long-term Pauillac. 2030–45+. 93–94
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Black color, surprisingly natural nose, between Havana and black fruits, with even a touch of flower, which is quite rare in Pauillac, and maybe brought on by the organic grapes. Suave texture, slightly less of a presence in the middle of the mouth than some neighbors, but a great length. A great wine but 2015 made a more immediate impression en primeur 96-97
