Michael Schuster: Closed, but refined and subtle, to smell, black-fruit ripe and wild-rose floral; a concentrated middleweight wine, fine but firm in tannin, fresh (but not perceptible as such) in acidity; rich and fleshy to taste, long and subtle aross the palate, sweet, fine, generous, and satisfying, with a very refined tannin texture, and lovely fragrant length. A very fine, ample Beychevelle in a slightly more modern style. 2028–40+. 92–93
Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: This is remarkable for the density of its color and the purity of its fruit, and its flesh is proportionally more impressive at this stage than it was in the 2009 or 2010. 96
