BUY THE WINE

Michael Schuster: Dense; faintly raisiny-ripe, black fruit and minerals; very full, fresh in acidity, finely firm in tannin, the ample constitution typical of Troplong today; very sweet and concentrated to taste, both ripe and fresh, powerful, mouth-coating, long to taste with a marked spicy complexity; dense and tasty, long and warm and aromatic to finish. An impressive, powerful presence, a certain elegance, yes, but dominated by its late picking ripeness and powerful alcohol impressions. Very long and, if you like this style, very good. 2028–40+. 92–93

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Ample and sappy plenitude, lots of density, deep intensity, and great length. Classy wine. 96–97
