Andrew Jefford: Dense, opaque black-red: ambitious colors. Deep, brooding aromas: dark black plum and blackcurrant and sweeter cherry, too; lifted and impressive. Intense and concentrated on the palate, with gratifying ripeness and depth. Nonetheless it’s style very true to the graceful appellation ideal. The tricky year is evident in its overall soprano style, but very well-judged with all that. An outstanding wine in this vintage, which competes with the very best of its Médoc peers. 2018–25. 90
Michael Schuster: Dark color for the year; relatively closed, and lightly oaky to smell; medium-full, crisp in acidity, lightly oak dry in tannin; will be pleasant enough with food to absorb the slight dryness, but the fruit is barely ripe in character, so there is not much that says “come hither” here! Now to 2022. 83
