Jesús Barquín: Gold yellow, slightly cloudy. Slightly undefined nose, with smoky hints but also marked by intense biological notes. Fat palate and only just enough persistence. 86
Andrew Jefford: Clear mid-gold. Dry, earthy, touch of cardboard here. Not quite enticing. On the palate, full with plenty of yeasty breadiness; smooth, soft, open. A much better wine, in fact, than the nose suggested: very classic in character, all about the flor, with billowing soft yeastiness. Mouth-filling. Pounded sweet almond and a green olive or two is the closest we get to “fruit.” 89
Peter Liem: In its smoky, lemony nuance, the nose is singular in personality, reflecting a sense of identity in its “bodega terroir.” This is consistent on the palate, and while the flavors feel a little short and incomplete, the display of individuality is quite attractive. 85
