Jesús Barquín: Amber, slightly cloudy. Old Fino with evident oxidation notes, but nowhere near Amontillado (no caramel notes). Beautiful nose, pity about the disappointing palate: too light and lacking substance. 89
Andrew Jefford: Orange in hue, though not deep-toned. Earthy and rather heavy in aroma, but quite complex and not without some yeasty bite and bodega dusty richness to it. Much as the palate suggested, this is a good-quality wine with plenty of depth and intricacy, plenty of bready chew, and even the classic basmati aftertaste of Jerez Fino. It communicates all of that but does so in a slightly heavy and torpid style, so that you wonder whether this bottle might not have been better a few months earlier. 87
Peter Liem: Unusually deep in color, this feels nutty and oxidative, even chocolatey on the palate. At this point it feels as if its flor is gone, depriving the wine of protection. It wouldn’t be a problem except that the wine is surprisingly simple and lacking in depth, seemingly unable to compensate for its absence of flor. 79
