Andrew Jefford: Bright mid-gold. Gratifying, impressive, and complex aromas of honey, marzipan, caramel; a crème anglaise richness, too. Generous and wellconstituted, though with a little less detail than the aromas suggested. A kick-back-and-enjoy Sauternes. Now to 2024. 88

Stephen Brook: Regime change at this property means a shrinking proportion of grand vin but, in theory, of higher quality. Certainly the nose is invigorating, a rich compound of apple, apricot, and deft oak. The palate is intense and dramatic, with vibrant acidity, still discernible oak, and imposing fruitiness. There is grip on the finish, which is long and assertive. A grand result for the vintage. 93
