Richard Mayson: Deep mahogany center; thin olive-green rim. Showing the power and concentration of age in cask, intensely rich but without much finesse. Maderized fruit. Impressive rather than outstanding. 14.5

Simon Field: Amber-to-green coloring, an unusual nose of figs, Brazil nuts, and soot. Palate rather spirity, the barrel rather overwhelming the piece, I feel; stentorian in a world that should have achieved a degree of harmonious tranquillity. 15

Margaret Rand: Lovely, powdery, aged nose; palate all citrus peel and raisins; pungent and characterful and a huge finish. 17
