Jesús Barquín:The nose displays a note of dampness that, according to the degree of attention it commands from the taster, can range from subtle and complex to bold and annoying. The palate grows on you without quite matching the levels of the previous wines [Warre’s and Martinez], with a complex aftertaste dominated by notes of pink peppercorn and minty licorice. 15
Richard Mayson:Good deep color; musty, dirty aromas, smell of wet wood; similarly on the palate, some good cherry fruit marred by a dirty undercurrent and dry, bitter tannins. Second bottle: smells and tastes fresher, some attractive berry fruit, firm, dry tannins with bittersweet length. 11
Charles Metcalfe:Sweet, jammy, red-fruit aromas. Bright acidity, good, firm tannins, and very ripe fruit. Some chocolaty character to this as well. Perfectly pleasant, though without great complexity. Decent length, balanced and ripe. 14
