Michael Schuster: Closed but dense, abundantly fruity but also refined to smell, with none of the spirity presence of the early 1990s Panascals; rich, elegantly balanced wine, with a marked firmness—but fineness—of tannin; fairly muscular in style but with a long mid-palate and real complexity of flavor; spicy, subtle, close-grained, and very long to finish. Typical Panascal combination of rich, fleshy fruit and firm structure, but also a harmony, a regal quality here not seen hitherto. Impressive. 2016–35 (January 2009). 17
